The Exchange Museum showcases the history of trade and banking in our city’s capital, Bridgetown. Being built in the 18th century, the building was previously home to a school known as the Harrison Free School until it eventually became a Masonic Lodge. This monumental museum, which is located in the World Heritage Site ‘Historic Bridgetown and Its Garrison’, not only explores commerce and the development of Barbados’ Central Bank, but it also showcases other exhibitions which encapsulate the buildings’ heritage and the history of Freemasonry and education in Barbados, specifically in the island's early years. If you love history or want to get to know Barbados a little better let us introduce you to the Exchange Museum.
