Nidhe Israel Synagogue and Museum (Jewish Museum)
Barbados’ capital, Bridgetown, is where you will find the Nidhe Israel Synagogue and Museum also known as the Jewish Museum. As the oldest synagogue in the Western Hemisphere, it was restored in 2011 with its beautiful Gothic arches, and is currently protected by the Barbados National Trust. The museum displays artefacts and interactive displays which document the arrival and settlement of the first Jewish people to Barbados in their attempt to flee from Europe and Brazil. If this historical site peaks your interest, we would be delighted to take you there.
