Arlington House Museum, located in the heart of Speightstown provides fun for the whole family with its educational and interactive features. This three-story historical monument was originally built in the eighteenth century but refurbished in the early 2000s.
As part of its overall concept, each floor is dedicated to a different theme. The ground floor serves as a quaint gift shop, offering books, photographs and items for sale. The first, houses both "Speightstown Memories", as well as “Plantation Memories” which concentrate on the first settlers to that town and the period of the booming sugar industry. The second floor, “Wharf Memories” is a hit with both kids and adults as it touches on Barbados’ nautical past.
This museum definitely breaks the ‘boring’ stereotype.
